So I started looking on pet finder. I looked at a lot of dogs young, old, big and small. It really helped me with all the pain I was feeling….. As time went on the pain lessened.
One day I came across this puppy named Miley. She was so cute and she was a German shepherd and chow mix.
My husband had always wanted a German shepherd, so I told him about Miley and was not really sure if he was ready or our children were. So the five of us all talked about it and decided we were ready. So I called the number and that is when I first spoke to Lis. She told me all about Miley and when I hung up we filled out the application and waited then finally we had our home visit and that is when we met Deette.
Then we waited for the news of whether we would be lucky enough to be given Miley. It was the longest two days of my life. I received the call on a Saturday morning around 10AM and I remember saying to my oldest son we got her, we got her. She came at 4:30 that day and the moment she walked in I new in my heart that she was a perfect fit for our family. I did not realize how sad my family was until I saw that spark of happiness back in their eyes when they play with her. We think she thinks she is a cat sometimes. She stretches her back like cats do and she loves to lay on the back of this one chair in our living room.
We also think she might be part fox (her coloring and tail). I have this special saying I say to her at least a hundred times a day. Who loves you who, who, who? Your mommy.
Well that day was August 2nd 2008 and now we just celebrated our first Christmas with her and we will be celebrating her first birthday on March 25th 2009.
I believe in my heart Holly sent her our way and that Miley was meant to be ours.
We love her so much and I know she loves us.
I want to take this time and Thank Lis, Jeff and Deette for all their hard work and for being the special people that they are.
God Bless you all
Happy New Year 09
Love from the Nolfis
