Kris & Koal

By Cindy Gallagher

Thanks to Kya's Rescue Angels we had a most wonderful holiday and the happyness continues!!

Kris and Koal were the hits of the holiday - everyone in the family loves them to pieces as  much as Tony and I do!  They are both doing great - they have mastered walking on their leashes and love the outdoors!  They had 9 inches of snow to play in on Christmas Day thanks to the Pocono weather - they were quite funny to watch!

House training has gone great - only two small accidents so far and they love being outside in the yard and playing ball!  it is all so  much fun - for ALL of us!

We have been out and about town to get them used to new things - although other dogs prove to be the challenge - we are looking into socialization classes and today I put puppy training books on hold at the library to pick up after work (i need to re-educate myself - it was all so long ago!)

We should have their new i.d. tags any day and have their next vet appointment scheduled - Ii have heard about a genetic test that can determine exact breed mix and we are considering - mostly because as brothers they look so totally different we are curious to know their make-up

Koal also is a bit more excitable (lab / terrier?) so we do a lot of calming work with him - Kris seems fine in this vein (so much so that he has taken to eating lying down!)  They have acclimated to their crate very well and make their way into at night no problem - we are actually moving to a larger crate as they have already maxed out of the first one (we weighed them yesterday - Kris is a whopping 15.4 lbs. and Koal seems so much lighter but is 12.7 lbs.  - I plan to measure their height tonite - they have already grown so much - it is quite amazing!

i have attached a few photos for you to enjoy!!

Stay well and happy new year! (speaking of which - we are having friends over on Wednesday and they are all excited to meet the new family!!)  - it will be grand!
